This week's wine is a Sebastiani Vineyards and Winery 2015 Chardonnay from California's Los Carneros AVA. Los Carneros saddles both Sonoma and Napa counties, just north of San Pablo Bay. The bay provides cooling fog and breezes making it a prime area for growing Chardonnay grapes. This wine's deep amber hue compliments a rich, nutty nose. The full bodied palate has a prominent toasted oak essence yet boasts a pleasing moderate acidity that gives way to a hint of lemon pepper spiced greens on the finish. At $40 a bottle, this is not an inexpensive wine, but if you are looking for an extravagant, well rounded and bold Chardonnay, this wine is worth every penny.
