2 lb package of mussels (any type will work)
1 lb crab meat or 1 lb imitation crab (finely chopped)
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup mayonnaise
2 Tbsp Miracle Whip
2 tsp rice vinegar
1 tsp sugar
1/2-1 tsp garlic powder
1/8 tsp harissa (add more if you like it spicy!)
1 Tbsp chopped green onion
Mix the sauce ingredients thoroughly.
Add the crab meat or chopped imitation crab .
Gently mix into sauce mixture and set aside.
Prepare the mussels as directed on the package. Carefully open the mussels (they will be hot!) and discard half of each shell, keeping the remaining half of each shell with the mussels on them and place them onto a grill grate or pan. Top each mussel with approximately 1/2-1 Tbsp of the crab mixture forming it to the shell. Sprinkle with shredded cheese. Grill on medium-hot grill until crab mixture is hot and bubbly and cheese is melted.
